I am a Senior Research and Teaching Fellow in History at the University of Lucerne.

I completed my MPhil and PhD at the University of Cambridge, and before that I did a BA and MA at the University of Basel. I work on the history of late medieval and early modern global history, with a special interest in the history of political thought, the history of slavery, the Iberian empires, and the transfer of practices and ideas between the Islamic and Christian worlds.

I am currently working on two book projects. The first is a history of slavery and empire in the early modern Iberian world. My second book project explores the transfer of secret knowledge between Baghdad and Basel in the later Middle Ages. More information is avaliable on my faculty website.
